About NEI Libraries
TAFE libraries within the New England Institute are part of the statewide TAFE Library network. They provide access to resources which support the courses offered across the region. The learning materials have been carefully selected, in consultation with teachers, to support the specific courses delivered at each campus. These materials include books, periodicals and audiovisual items. Databases, CD-ROMs and the Internet provide access to a wide range of electronic resources.Professional librarians provide efficient and effective reference and information services to students and staff. Library research services assist teachers in course development and delivery.
Library user education programmes, which assist in the development of information literacy skills and Internet and equipment use are available throughout the year. Group and individual instruction assist students in the effective use of information.
Computers for student use, seminar rooms, rooms for individual and group study, video conference facilities and audiovisual equipment provide for interactive learning in the Institute libraries.
Contact the staff in your local New England TAFE library for more specific information on the library and information services available to you.
Staffed libraries are found at all New England Campuses except for Quirindi and Tenterfield which have smaller unstaffed libraries and information regarding these two can be obtained by contacting the staff at the Tamworth and Inverell libraries respectively.
