Inverell is the world's leading producer of sapphires and is also a major gem fossicking area. Inverell is also recognised as one of Australia's highest producers of top quality honey. Cave exploration, trekking in the rugged gorge country, bushwalking, fishing and water sports are popular pastimes. The Campus offers courses reflecting both local and state-wide needs in building and construction, business services, information technology, welding, welfare, child care, rural studies, hospitality, automotive, aboriginal art and culture and general education. Inverell is the only TAFE NSW campus offering Gemstone Faceting Techniques.
